ABOUT DROGHEDA FILIPINO-IRISH COMMUNITY (DFIC)
What is the Drogheda Filipino Irish Community (DFIC)?
The Drogheda Filipino Irish Community (DFIC) is a non-profit organisation and a member of Louth PPN (Public Participation Network). It is dedicated to fostering unity, cultural engagement, and mutual support among Filipinos and Filipino-Irish families in the community. It serves as a platform for social connection, cultural preservation, and community development.
The Louth PPN is a county-wide network of community, voluntary, social inclusion, and environmental groups in County Louth. It acts as a bridge between community organisations and local government, ensuring that community voices are represented in local decision-making.
What are the benefits of becoming a member?
As a registered member of DFIC, you will be able to:
• Receive official updates, announcements, and invitations to community events
• Participate in sports, cultural, social, and outreach programmes
• Engage with and build connections within the Filipino community
• Access community-led support and initiatives
MEMBERSHIP & REGISTRATION
What is the membership registration process?
DFIC membership registration is available to pre-qualified individuals only. This means applicants must meet the community’s eligibility criteria before proceeding with registration.
To be eligible, you must be:
• A Filipino national or of Filipino descent
• A Filipino who has acquired Irish nationality
• An Irish national married to a Filipino

Why is registration required?
Registration enables DFIC to maintain accurate and up-to-date membership records. This is essential for:
• Effective communication with members
• Efficient planning and organisation of programmes and activities
• Delivering relevant services and support to the community
Is membership free of charge?
Membership is:
• Free of charge during the Priority Registration period (09 April – 20 May 2026)
• Subject to a donation of any amount for new members registering after 20 May 2026
Why are donations requested?
DFIC operates as a non-profit organisation. Donations support:
• Community events and cultural activities
• Outreach and engagement initiatives
• Administrative and operational requirements
All contributions are used solely to sustain and enhance DFIC programmes and services.
DATA PRIVACY & SECURITY
Why do we need to collect personal information?
Personal information is collected to:
• Accurately identify members
• Maintain reliable membership records
• Facilitate communication and engagement
• Support event organisation and administration
Only information deemed necessary for these purposes is requested.
How is my personal data protected?
DFIC is committed to safeguarding your personal data. Measures include:
• Use of secure, industry-standard platforms (CRM systems, Google, and SumUp)
• Restricted access limited to authorised DFIC officers

Who has access to my data?
Access to personal data is strictly limited to designated DFIC officers responsible for membership administration and communication. Access controls are implemented to reduce risk and ensure accountability.

Why is my date of birth required?
Date of birth is collected for the following purposes:

It may also be used for optional communications such as birthday greetings.
Why is demographic information (e.g., age group) collected?

What is GDPR consent?
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), your consent confirms that:

DFIC REFUND POLICY
What is DFIC’s ticket refund policy?
Tickets are generally non-refundable, except if an event is cancelled or rescheduled by DFIC.

Will I get a refund if an event is cancelled?
Yes. If an event is cancelled by DFIC, you will receive a full refund.
What happens if an event is rescheduled?
Your ticket remains valid for the new date. If you cannot attend, you may request a refund within the timeframe provided.
Can I get a refund if I can no longer attend?
Refunds are not provided for change of mind or non-attendance. You may transfer your ticket to another person.
Can I transfer my ticket?
Yes. Tickets may be transferred. Please ensure the recipient has the correct ticket details.
